"Affair En Plein Air" - a two-day outdoor painting event

Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm
Sunday, 10 am to 1 pm; Judging of artwork at 1:30 pm.
Free with Estate admission: $12 for adults & $7 for children (ages 4-14).

The Deering Estate at Cutler and GroveHouse Artists will host a two-day “En Plein Air” (in the open air) painting event. Artists will be painting on the grounds of the Estate on Saturday and Sunday, where guests can admire their work in progress.

Judging of the art will take place on Sunday at 1:30 pm. Cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded at 2:30 pm. Winners will also exhibit their work as part of the 2012 Summer Art Exhibit to be held in the Richmond Cottage at the Deering Estate at Cutler from mid June - August.

As an avid art collector, philanthropist, and amateur artist, Charles Deering sought to support artists and the creation of fine art. His tradition and innovative spirit continues on the Estate today through the Artist Village.
