Spring Camp

The 2012 Spring Camp at the Deering Estate will be held from March 12 - 16, 2012. Children, ages 6-15, will explore Marine Biology through a variety of hands-on activities!

This year, we are offering a unique marine experience for our spring campers! Campers will learn about the different components within a marine habitat while constructing a marine habitat for their classroom. Participants will collect water, sediments, marine plants and specimens to be added to a saltwater aquarium while learning about animal husbandry, water quality, adaptations and habitats. The week will finalize with a beach party at Crandon Park. Hands-on experiences, experiments, information gathering and recording are among all the activities campers will enjoy this year during our spring camp.

The cost of Spring Break Camp is $188 (five-day session). Please note there is a one-time $12 annual camp registration fee. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Early drop-off and late-pick up are available for an additional fee of $10.00 per day for any combination of early drop-off and late pick-up. Early drop off is from 7:30 am to 9:00 am and late pick up is from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
