2013 SUMMER CABARET CONCERT SERIES
June 15, 2013
featuring Kirk Green
About the Artist:
Kirk A. Green is a Jamaican born and bred musician with close to 20 years of experience in the industry. After watching a bass player laying musical foundation for a band on television as a youth, Kirk fought tradition and stereotypes and turned himself into an expert at the six-string bass, with the modus operandi of a lead guitar player. His talents have been utilized on projects for such artists as: Ricky Martin, Joss Stone, Lauryn Hill, DMX, the Marley family, and Ike Woods.
Kirk Green is an innovative, creative, multi-faceted musician, producer and writer who, besides the bass, also plays guitar, and even a bit of piano. His innovative technique transforms Kirk from just a bass player into a symphony of harmonies, melodies, and chords. Although his background includes earning a degree in Musical Performance from the University of Miami, with a concentration in jazz, Kirk is anything but inside the box. His drive as a musician and the sounds in his head moved Kirk into the realm of writing and production, giving him the ultimate freedom to create.
His accolades as musical director for international stars and numerous tours in North America and Europe, have led him to where he is now, executive producing the Living Room Diaries, which showcases South Florida’s hottest local, national, and international talent. Kirk understands that art is a gift, and has decided to be the conduit that exposes them to the world.
