Kids' Camp in Miami

The Deering Estate at Cutler provides science and recreation based camp programs in Miami during the spring, summer and winter. Scheduled during school breaks, kids' camp is for children in elementary and middle school. The program uses primarily science based curriculum and hands-on activities. Children can also explore and enjoy a balance of fine and performing arts, enrichment activities and recreational activities through a Creative Art Camp that uses theme-based, and art-based learning activities. Activities incorporate our natural area, historic settings, artist studios and exhibit spaces.

Teacher Planning Day Mini-Camps
The Deering Estate at Cutler offers Mini-Camps for children, age 6-15, on teacher planning days. Each Mini-Camp theme is Sunshine State Standard correlated. Campers will enjoy the beauty of nature through hands-on activities such as hikes, catching critters, nature photography tours, experiments and more.

September 9th, 2010: Practicing Science
November 1st & 2nd, 2010: Ecology
January 21st, 2011: Earth Sciences
February 18th, 2011: Nature Photography
April 4th, 2011: Archaeology
April 22nd, 2011: Biology
May 10th, 2011: Marine Biology

Cost: $38 for 1-day session; $75 for the 2-day session plus a $12 annual registration fee.
