Imagine yourself canoeing, going on a swamp tromp, learning about archery, water conservation, telemetry, veterinary medicine, and wildlife conservation while volunteering during summer camp at the beautiful and hitoric Deering Estate at Cutler. Our Junior Naturalist Program gives teens the opportunity to develop leadership, team building, and career skills. Our training session will focus on a nature based learning orientation and the essential certifications of First Aid, CPR, and Water Safety that would prepare the Junior Naturalist to be a well-qualified volunteer. These counselor in training programs provide service learning hours-credit for school, to participants and prepare the Junior Naturalist for experiences, internships, and other opportunities in environmental studies, career development, natural sciences, nature based tour leading, and volunteerism., as they look for future jobs in our community and apply for schools.
