The Deering Estate, in collaboration with the Antique Automotive Club of America – South Florida Region, will host the 4th annual Vintage Auto Show on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 10 am to 3 pm.
Car enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy a variety of vintage cars from 1959 and older. Children can participate in a scavenger hunt using photo clues to identify a selection of vintage automobiles. There will also be Pinewood Derby Car races throughout the day where children can bring their own car to race on the tracks.
Guests can also enjoy activities provided by the Frost Museum of Science, old fashion lawn games, guided tours of the historic houses at 10:30 am & 3:00 pm, a guided natural areas tour at 12:30 pm, and a video presentation “Deering’s Wheels.”
Deering’s Wheels is an educational display containing historical photographs and ephemera connected to the Deering family and highlighted during the Vintage Auto Show. Images include tractors, farm equipment and historical information from the Deering Harvester Company, Deering Works, and McCormick-Deering Farmall equipment.
The 1950 International Harvester Truck, which was donated to the Deering Estate Foundation, will also be on display. The truck was purchased brand new in Chicago by Marion Deering McCormick, Charles Deering’s daughter. After Mrs. McCormick passed away in 1965, the truck was passed to her son and maintained by the McCormick family until they donated it to the Deering Estate Foundation.
Food & beverages will be available for purchase including wings & beer from Sports Grille.

About the Antique Automotive Club of America – South Florida Region
Founded in 1955, the Antique Automotive Club of America is open to enthusiasts of antique automobiles of all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles from the early 1900’s and now including the year 1987. Show rules require that the vehicles be twenty-five years old or older, but that doesn’t mean you have to own a show car to join the club or participate in non-show events. In fact, you don’t even have to own an antique car; all it takes is a love of these treasures and an appreciation for the history they represent.
